About Tirumala Temple

The Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple is a renowned Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Vishnu, located in the hill town of Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh. The temple is built on the Venkatadri hill, one of the seven hills of Tirumala, and is the richest temple in the world in terms of donations received and wealth.

According to legend, the temple has a recorded history of over 2,000 years and is mentioned in ancient texts like the Puranas and the Sangam literature. The presiding deity, Lord Venkateswara, is believed to have appeared here to save mankind from the trials and troubles of Kali Yuga.
